Here at YMCA George Williams we offer a range of additional Diploma Pathways
These programmes are professionally accredited for youth work through ABC Awards, and via CLD Standards Council for Scotland for Community Learning and Development. It is also mapped against the Social Pedagogy Professional Association’s new standards for social pedagogy.
These flexible Diploma programmes are for anyone working with young people, children and adults in the community. Learners will explore their values and beliefs, engage more deeply with others to assist them in learning, identify and use resources within the community, and plan and evaluate their work.
What is the Diploma worth?
The standard 37 credit Diploma leads to a level 3 qualification endorsed by the Awarding Body Consortium (ABC). It can be used as a stand alone professional qualification. You also can add an additional 6 credits and gain a nationally recognised Access to Higher Education Diploma.
We also offer a range of 54 credit courses validated by Laser Awards and in addition, a formal access to higher education diploma worth a total of 60 credits. All these diplomas include a UK-wide youth work and a community learning and development qualification from CLD Scotland. Some have also been designed to meet the new standards for social pedagogy.
These flexible Diploma programmes are for anyone working with young people, children and adults in the community.
