Housing studies

“We are excited about YMCA George Williams College’s new housing qualifications. There is such a need for a qualification that covers housing policy, practice and good relational skills in support work”

Brian Cooke, Head of Housing, YMCA

What’s on offer?

At the YMCA George Williams College we

are delighted to introduce our new Housing

Practice qualifications validated by the Chartered Institute for Housing (CIH) at levels 2 and 3.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for course dates and booking information.

This course enables frontline staff to gain regulatory and legal knowledge of the housing sector while also exploring the importance of relationship building with those they support. The qualifications are rooted in the student’s everyday work enabling them to reflect on and improve their practice.

Who is this for?

The courses are designed for frontline staff working in supported housing.

What will students get at the end?

Commonly our students tell the National YMCA College how much they enjoy the blended learning approach. They learn to reflect on themselves as people as well as their relational practice. Specifically students gain:

  • A career boost by achieving a CIH validated qualification
  • CIH membership and can use the CIH designator after their name
  • Deeper knowledge of housing including up to date policy and practice
  • Greater confidence in working with vulnerable people in residential settings

Potential to study housing qualifications at a higher level.

How much will it cost?
